Charismathics CSSI (Charismathics Smart Security Interface) is a cross-platform, standards-based middleware from charismathics that connects smart cards, USB tokens, and national eIDs to operating systems and applications. By exposing common cryptographic interfaces—such as PKCS#11 and Microsoft CSP/CNG/minidriver—CSSI enables strong authentication, digital signatures, and encryption across Windows, macOS, and Linux without locking you into a single card or token vendor.

Key features:

  • Broad compatibility with smart cards and tokens, including many PKI, PIV, and CAC credentials
  • Integration via standard APIs for browsers, VPNs, S/MIME email, and document signing
  • Consistent user experience and PIN/certificate management tools
  • Flexible enterprise deployment options, including silent installs and policy configuration
  • Support for virtualized and remote environments (e.g., VDI, RDP, Citrix)

Benefits:

  • Interoperability across mixed environments and device types
  • Reduced integration effort through open standards
  • Scalable foundation for PKI-based identity, access, and compliance initiatives

Ideal for organizations that need reliable, vendor-agnostic smart card middleware to secure logon, communications, and data across diverse platforms.

Charismathics CSSI is developed by Charismathics GmbH. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 5.7, 6.0 and 6.1.
